Bio/Description

Sam Jones is the Communications Manager at the Bridging Divides Initiative. He was previously the Head of Communications at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project, where he directed the organization's public relations, media outreach, and strategic messaging. There, he oversaw the launch of the US Crisis Monitor, a joint project with the Bridging Divides Initiative to provide the public with real-time data on political violence ahead of the 2020 election, and served as a lead spokesperson for the project. Prior to these roles, Sam worked to document human rights violations in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, and represented local and regional civil society organizations at the United Nations in New York and Geneva. He earned his BA in Government & Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College and his MA in Ethics, Peace & Human Rights from American University’s School of International Service.
